@frigid cave

Literally my post lol
"I'm going to take a wild guess that the fusible link for the charging circuit has melted, effectively opening that circuit, and could be the source of burning smell, As suggested by C5 diag, you need to check the circuits (wires) with a meter."
This seems the most likely
fantastic did you check the fusable link as the suggested
At this point I'm certain that it shorted out
yeah just check continuity with a multimeter through the link
It's because when I reconnected my starter
if the ohm reading is less than roundabouts 3 ohms you should be good
ahh i see
So I may have toasted this alternator, we'll see. I'm gonna take a shot at it this weekend
Thank you v much you've been the most helpful person so far lol @true lintel
Literally the only response worth anything ðŸ˜
yeah its a tough question for sure not an easy diagnosis thats why
do you have a multimeter
Yeah
Dont know how to use it though
idk shit about electronics
okay well if you need help diagnosing the alternator and charging system feel free to ask me for help
its not too bad when you get down to it
Just got around to getting the alternator tested
The alternator is fine
Tmrw im gonna go under the car and track this shit down
