i was just driving yesterday and was doing some hard braking, after a while i go to stop for a break, i had my foot to the floor and although braking was still good, usually at that point i would be locked up, i just got some new tyres recently and my brake pads are all good for some context but im not sure what it is can anyone help?
this is on a 95 corolla hatch, which has suprisingly really good brakes stock

Whens the last time your brake fluid was changed

Bad brake fluid, or leaking brake fluid

#

You likely have air in the system

brake fluid or you finally got ABS to engage maybe

Kinda confused you were doing hard braking and then u noticed it, or u want your car to lock up? Kinda confused. Why do you want your brakes to lock up? That is not a good thing, you want abs

#

Locked up brakes is the fastest way to lose traction

well i told you the likely cause in my answer above

I don’t have enough pressure from braking to lock up my wheels

#

Oh I saw

#

I’ll have a look thank you

has the issue been present ever since?

fading fiber
#

Yea

#

My brakes are really fucking good usually but now they are average

#

Good news I can still lock them up on gravel so I’ll still have fun

U wanna lock up the rears to drag ass

fading fiber
#

Yes

#

Discs front drum back

#

But I’m also disappointed with its braking especially downhill going fast

Also you got Corolla calipers and rotors

#

They single pot?

#

My skyline is single all the way around in clamp style, I assume that is the same with yours. I just bought like a month ago some 4 pots (haven’t put them in yet) gonna be a big upgrade and they look great. I would recommend getting upgraded brakes all around and converting your rear drums to calipers and rotors

#

Also if you wanna lock up your rears and drag some ass a lot easier I suggest getting a hydraulic hand brake
