Hello, I'm new here. I dont know the first thing about cars but I'm a writer and want to have some sense of realism as a baseline and work from there.
So I'm likely just going to be ask questions and such. Sorry if they don't make sense.

What’s the best car to be a Batmobile that’s also the oldest?
Stuff like pursuit, escape/getaway, stealth, a engine noise that can be both a quiet stealthy hum or a monstrous terrifying lion-esque roar, machine gun and rockets that can be controlled by the driver with a button inside like the 2016 Batmobile, maybe spools or grappling hooks like the 1980s Batmobile, a truck or satchel space for storage of items, optionally a passenger seat to keep allies or criminals, hopefully windscreen wipers for rainy nights, also a roof and optionally side windows to avoid projectile weapons hitting the head of the driver, faster than horses, able to make sharp turns in both stone roads and rough off road terrain and weather like forests or snowy land or the desert, has a reverse driving function hopefully a fast one but if not fast a normal or slow one is ok too, also has a quick start up cause I imagine getting chase or chased by someone would require some urgency, all of this able to be controlled by one person/driver (I looked into a lot of military and police vehicles and they seem to often have a partner with them but Batman is supposed to be solo sometimes.)
Ideally I’d like something as old as possible even if its literally some obscure thing from the 1700s or 1800s. But I'll also take anything before 1946.

so you basically want a do-all well rounded vehicle that can do anything pretty much?

#

would you be ok with a vehicle from a popular show(not batman)?

highly modified Pontiac trans am with an unbreakable shell, rockets, grappling hook, and a turbine that can push it to 300 miles an hour

#

it also talks back which for the 80s was really cool

#

isn't the most realistic vehicle but it's capable and good for story lines

Ah yeah I've heard about it but I didn't know what it looked like or that it did all this.
I was also thinking James Bond's car but thats newer than Batman I think

#

But ill definitely keep this one in mind

I'll consider it if I can't find anything older than that.

Chatty chatty bang bang does indeed look great to me too yes.
The Bugatti and BMW were things I didn't know about so ill happily look into these cars thank you.

Another somewhat lesser known character that would also possibly work is Lupin the Third
He rides a yellow Mercedes-Benz SSK W06 but much more popularly rides a yellow Fiat 500 (I think an F)

# hallow lynx Hello, I'm new here. I dont know the first thing about cars but I'm a writer and...

But I think you should consider the NSU Sport Prinz, it’s the predecessor to the Audi TT and was a bad ass coupe for the late 50’s and came with a straight inline twin that topped out at 160km/h. It had a eye catching design that was different to previous NSU’s it wasn’t so round it had edges and had a luxurious sports coupe feeling. Definitely an important car for what would later become the NSU Spider, the car we can thank for the RX3, and RX7.

The example that inspired me to want to have a quiet engine was this
Also one of the comments in the video said this would be a good getaway vehicle lol

Also just to add
One idea I had was for the engine noise to be both a quiet ominous silent hum but can also turn into a monstrous terrifying panthera-esque roar like that of a lion or tiger.
