#1994 Ford Explorer Won't move in any gear
35 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The car moves alil whenever I first shift it into a gear (reverse and drive ) but then stops and acts like it's in neutral but sometimes it makes a grinding sound
Not a hard grinding tho
uhhhhh so average ford moment right there
your transmission is probabaly toast
How tho?
I don't understand how shifting from overdrive to drive while at a stoplight can make my tranny go bye bye
I did hear kind of a hissing sound but ๐คท
Didn't even know that was a thing ๐
same thats kinda cool ngl
trans overheated? couldve been leaking coolant (i think all trans have coolart... right?)
tried to do too much maybe... it is a computer and computers have issues
I looked around and didnt see any leakage and I checked my trans fluid and I was alil low but not empty
How would I fix that then ๐
Cause like if a transmission has a brain fart after shifting gears then shits the bed
That's not a good design ๐
So I got my car to reverse one time and that was only because I took off the vacuum hose going to the transmission or whatever it's called
GG @half willow, you just advanced to level 3! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
Now it won't move again ๐
Well I'ma try to get it to move because where I have my car I can't keep it parked
And I can't afford a tow rn
Yea then that should be good..
Uhhh you cant
It is a ford...
Wierd
Yea
so theres no way AT ALL to fix my car
why cant i just buy a new tran?
or buy the part that clearly broke
so I think it might be my transmission servo
because i got it rolling down a hill and randomly the transmission kicks in then it stops
Ok that's cheaper
@half willow it may be your transmission pump or converter
@spare island idk what you're talking about lmao
transmission pump? never knew that was a thing until now
