It's odd that recently lava keeps trying to come up with mechanics that pressure people to leave the game open. Is he trying to pad the steam "concurrent players" stat or something?

This game is an active game. Active farms are needed for pretty much anything
There's a difference between "it's most optimal to grind a particular strategy using an active character" and "keep your game running and I'll give you free spins on the new event"
If ur playing this game as a true idle then this is not the game for u. We had it like this before w7 now its more than ever
if at least he could make it so that the lvl was properly shared between character that is active and those that are afk
none of the other skills in the game have been linked to being active
sure there may be some bonuses by doing so, but not 100% reliant on it
Imagine if sneaking or farming required you to be online for the skill to function.. thats just bad design

ngl this is just making me not enjoy the game because i know i will fall far behind since i can't just leave my computer on all the time (and rip all mobile players, either you fall behind or you ruin your phones battery)
please just make the afk rate 100% with the next update
also why the fuck are we taking one of the least liked features that is only tolerated because it's glitched (roll x+ to unlock a vial) and making it the key way of progressing research?
pair that with new areas that only like top 0.1% players can reach and makes for genuinely the most disappointing update lava couldve delivered.
I hope the big "when this reaches 10" reveal is that idleon will be used to mine crypto for lava while we run it in the background.
what i think is worst about is I go to sleep, go to wrok, coem back, and have not gotten a single lvl in research, and like 150 minhead currency only too, all the new stuff in this update has a daily timelock, but punishes you after logging off bc off that timelock, feels very dumb to me
Basic afk% in research is just atrociously low... What was it starting at, 5-10%?
It would be fine if it was 50% and then with gaining levels we would later use some points and slowly bring it up to 100. Then while it would still be worth it to keep the game running in the begining (double the gains!) at least leaving it turned off would also give some progress in the skill.
It is just counterintuitive with what Idleon is supposed to be. At least to me it was a game I could log in for few minutes here and there, move characters around and get massive gains when I came back 10h later. Now there is just more and more stuff that wants you to keep it running 24/7...
As it is now it feels like it is major inconvienience to players just to pad online player numbers.
It feels a bit like lava wanting to artificially slow down the players with the new content so we can't rush through while also forcing the users to be active to bump the numbers the numbers on steam
Add that to the abysmal rate for new discoveries. Failure to succeed should either increase your subsequent odds, or the upgrades that increase your total number count/odds should be more than just +1. Even if it's +1 base to the roll, getting up to... +4? Is kind of a joke. Either that or allow prestudy to slowly reduce the threshold to successfully make the discovery. I still haven't found what Insight or levelling up discoveries does. I think I caught somewhere that by default it literally does NOTHING without the right upgrade,
So overall while a lot of the unlocks have been at least interesting if seemingly horrific time-scaling, Research has been one of the least satisfying skills I've had to deal with since sailing. But at least sailing has all the % afk claims progress in alchemy, divinity, golden hamsters, and even the PO boxes, so every time you claim any afk (10 chars, multiple times a day without sizeable time commitment to being online) you can indulge in the RNG did you get the artifact upgrade you are currently fishing for. I'd say Divinity itself is the most frustrating skill overall to get going still because it monopolizes your characters on top of being miserably slow outside of voter bonus multiplier weeks, but this is a close second.
It really feels like base should be at LEAST 50%. I'm fine if he wants to leave an 'edge' for active players to incentivize active play, capping it at 75-80% but 10% is an infuriating joke. It literally feels like punishment for having an actual life and responsibilities.
So leaving ur pc open means u got no life and no responsibilities? Interesting
I think it's more the fact of letting your pc on for several days at home while doing nothing on it since your out working, it's not really good for the machine to just stay running for days on end
Most people can't leave their pc on all day without worrying about it eventually giving out especially those in school or work that aren't hard-core gamers that have high end pcs that only have 4 to 8 gbs of ram its just to much for what is a idle game at the end of the day
