#Fix for being Hard-Locked out of Features.

So I have been playing this game for a while and am currently hard-locked (ok, semi-hard-locked) out of the rift because I do not have a squire class currently. (Rift 8 requires a divine knight.) I am out of luck until an elite class swap token returns to the limited store, a new character is added, or I need to start a whole new account, as I have 10 elite characters.

This is one of a few cases where players can be hard-locked out of features. For instance, if you don't discover a beginner class, you won't be able to level up. Jewelry/Armor in the dungeon shop. (and all the quests and benefits the class offers.)

Possible solutions I can think of:
-allow people to delete characters so they can re-level them. (for instance, if someone created only Barbarians, it would not be fun.)
-make class, sub-class, and elite-class tokens always available in the store (maybe with a month or 2 restock period.)
-remove requirements that have to have certain classes.

It would be nice to have an accessible solution for this. I know it's a minority of people, but being locked out and having to wait for an unknown amount of time feels terrible.

Ok I have 2 problems here, 1, do you have 3 barbarians 2,lava would mostly not allow deleting characters

#

And w6 is out soon, so maybe another slot for char

Yeah 3 blood berserkers atm

So, I am able to change my class with another elite class swap token when the elite class pops up in the store. However, If someone decides they really like barbs for some reason, they would be hard locked out of a lot of features and need to create a new account.

#

Having a base class swap token would also fix this is character deletion is a no go.

When selecting a class, it clearly indicates which skill is crucial for that specific class. If I recall correctly, when choosing the elite class, there's a warning against selecting three of the same kind, as this choice cannot be altered. Therefore, I find it challenging to understand how someone could overlook all this information.

In your case, with your choice of class, not only have you hindered your progress in the rift, but you've also missed out on having one of the best active characters and a crucial source for construction with the DK.

However, I would still appreciate it if the tokens were offered permanently in the shop.

Yeah, not saying it wasn't a wrong decision, but if it is going to hard-lock the account shouldn't be a decision you can make and not fix.

Can't really comment on if there was or wasn't a warning since it's been a long time since selected classes.

There is no statement in the game telling you not to choose 3 of the same Elite class, to my knowledge. No dialogue from Eliteus on the wiki mentions it. The only place I've seen such a warning is this discord, in a message from Lava years ago.

It isn't a hard requirement not to do so, since that would disable "fun" meme accounts like 10vman or whatever. But there appears to be concerns of exploits with making those elite swap tokens always available.

There is a very big difference between "using the tools Lava has made legitimately available" and "blatantly editing game data".

Having base class resets would allow for kinda silly things, like making a DK to absolutely shred through combat levels, then using swap tokens to make them a more annoying class to level with like Beast Master.

It defeats the point of the pros/cons system of classes if you can have every Pro whenever you want it.

That being said: Not having them available can lock people out of content 😦

There is a change needed both to AVOID the issue happening in the first place, and one to FIX the issue where it has already happened on existing accounts.

For me even just having a token that resets the character to a beginner level 1 would be an acceptable solution since it would not take forever to relevel that character.

To avoid issue of being locked on content happening game could force you to create 1 of each elite class character and giving you fully free choice only when you already have 7 different elite classes.

It would still allow you to make different characters in whatever order you want to, just force you that your first seven would be 1 of each elite class.

It would limit players choices, maybe there is someone wanting to play 10 warriors out there, but I dont think you can solve that issue without that.

Maybe to do that you have to tick several warning boxes that say I understand that I can't change the base classes and may be locked out permanently from certain classes

#

"are you ABSOLUTELY SURE you want to do this? There's NO going back on this account"

#

Then there can't be any complaints of screw up, because it was entirely on them, they had to tick several boxes explaining they understood what they were doing.
