That's pretty clear: defeat the boss, hope for good. If there was more, then i would agree with you, but at this case, maybe something smaller? Like, only the first time you enter random event you'll get lava popup which says: welcome to random events! Here you should murder every living being! But if you want big rewards, go to the boss over there. There are a lot of kinds of random events, but the purpose is similar, kill the boss get rewarded. Goodluck!
