you have to keep at least 1 copy of any pet. Untradeable or tradeable doesn't matter, don't delete last copy of the pet or you lose the bonus you get from it.

Weekly 1 free, or from bundles/pet crystals etc. You trade tradeables for ones you don't have.

Sometimes there are people that gives some free pets if you check pet-trades channel regularly, just don't beg for it. If you see someone offering something free and you don't have it, ask it from them.
