I'll give it a test when my 2 hr marks hits on my WW but I don't think that's the whole story

I wouldn't be surprised if the prayer specifically was on collect, but I suspect the rate similar to EXP and critters are set on placement

for sake of immediate example though left is an EXP trap placed by Vman, right is a shiny trap placed by WW

both characters checking these have shiny snitch active

ok just checked better and to clarify this is an image stitched together from 2 but the trap on the left is placed by my WW and right is by my Vman

this is with snitch off, when I equip snitch it updates the already placed traps shiny rates to 100% and 0.1% respectively

so the base rate of the trap is snapshot by who placed it, and shiny stitch divides that rate to get your proper rate

I did also test claiming with snitch off and on, and it as expected follows such behaviour, a trap placed by my WW using shiny snitch, but claimed by my Vman without snitch gives 1 shiny, and gives the expected increased amount when snitch is on

for your question the logic should maintain the same, you just can't control the variable as much, effectively speaking
Whoever places the trap determines the traps stats, this includes Critter Count, EXP and Shiny Chance, whoever claims the trap uses these, but also the shiny snitch prayer is applied by the claimer NOT the placer so if you want it active whoever is claiming must have it active, and the placer having it or not having it has no impact

the Shiny Snitch Prayer will apply both the bundling of critters and shiny chance division to whatever the traps stats you are trying to claim
