WHen i had 5 slots i used Rattler, Mono, Refiller, Defender, Refiller. Sometimes you gotta time the first shield or you can keep resetting the territory fight over and over until the first shield lands at the right time.

put whichever one has the lower pet power furthest right. doesn't make too much of a difference really in this case. it may die but if it gets to use its skill at least once then you should hopefully be fine

I believe it is +85% chance to block while the shield is on top of the pet. So with the base +12% for having a defender on team it is a 97% chance to block damage. Unless there is some other base that gets it to 100 that i don't know about you DO have that tiny little 3% chance to still get hit. you'll have to just feel out the timing to get it right i guess

When the production is turned on, every time a cycle completes, an amount of power is added to the power bar. You can refine a salt, turning 1 point of power into 1 of that salt.
When the bar is full, refining levels that salt, increasing the power/cycle but also the resource cost.
Auto refine is exactly what it says, it automatically uses any power generated instantly, so to level your salts, it should be off
