if i change character layout from gatherer to fighter does that affect eagle eye or does it only matter when you first put out the trap?

collect traps with trapper drone/eagle eye - traps retain same stats, only new stats when you delete and replace them
shiny chance and shiny snitch prayer - when collecting traps

iirc it uses the current eagle eye talent level, so if you swap to preset with lower level eagle eye then you collect less
