If you have all pets unlocked, then yeah I think breedability is solely for the WW talent boost. If you have the voidwalker buff to whale wollop that gives breeding time it's best to have 1 of each pet you can breed in the fence and just farm kills to speed it up

Or is it just the player menu where it does nothing? Or am I hallucinating?
