wait no im wrong. I've been playing modded too long. you can get up to ada/tit out the door with fishing. one of the mods i always use locks each of hardmode ores behind killing one of the mech bosses so you cant get top tier ores until after killing all 3

Whatever the final ore is from smashing altars, and every ore prior to it (including ores not found in your world from mining) is the only ores you can get from crates. Basically You can't get chlorophtye, spectre, or shroomite bars or Ore from crates.

But biome crates have whatever loot in them that can be found from the respective chests as well.
