I saw the work “slingshot” without any other context and immediately thought of Mech Arena (really good game, 100% recommend. It’s free, but if you want to spend money you get massive power boosts with only a few dollars (<$5 for most bundles, and they’re quite potent) and even if you’re a f2p like me it’s a bit of a grind but it’s definitely not p2w, I was a decently skilled bottom tier ranked player a while ago as a f2p. But you're not gonna find something like that unless the series is gonna go on for One Pieces levels of length. Solo Leveling si 12-13 episodes, and probably only gonna be 4-5 seasons with the current MC. If they keep going with his kid, it might add a few more seasons.

i mean ur not wrong, but you can critique. i still enjoyed mha, jjk, tg, and more if youd like me to name but its little things like that

it wouldve given horikoshi more time to create an incredible story(in this case), instead of an entire training bit wheres hes learning to do something he shouldve known when getting his power

that's an extra 2-3 episodes/ chapters that could've been used to long out fight scenes if he rly wanted, im not saying the training was unnecessary, but it couldve been used in a better way

Saying the authors need to be smarter is not a good critique imo. You don't have their vision, or know what restraints they have on them to get things out in a timely manner.

In a perfect world, yes everything would be amazing and thought out and done "correctly" however that might look. But we're in a world where content has to be pushed out on an annual basis to keep relevant most of the time.

Honestly, I don't want long drawn out fight scenes. It just turns into DBZ at that point. We don't need 5 episodes for a single fight most of the time unless it's like a season ender.
