Pretty sure your only options are to allow the text to overflow beyond cell boundaries or have it be visibly cut (all the text will still be stored in the cell)

The best you can do is select the whole column of data and hit auto adjust cell width

If you allow the cells to overflow maybe hide cell boundaries so you have visibly just a blank sheet.

You might be able to achieve something with conditional formating. Here I have a sheet with visible cell boundaries disabled. A conditional formating applies boundaries only to cells that contain data.

In theory it should be possible to check one column for the entry with the most characters and have conditional formating draw (visible only) cell boundaries for whole column of data based on that. You would have to estimate how many characters can fit in one cell.

I'm so upset right now. I fell asleep on the recliner last night and woke up just a bit ago. It's one of those electric ones with buttons for the leg and headrests. I went to put the legs down and I heard a small yelp. I tried to stop and go up, but having just woken up, I fumbled and made it keep going down. Cat darted to the dining room and then to the bedroom. Followed her in and check under the bed and behind it, to see if she's trying to be hard to find. Thankfully she's on the mid-height cat tower next to the window. She is hunkered down in the top bed and is beyond pissed. I don't know if she's hurt. No matter how much petting, stroking, and patting I did for her elicited any kind of positive response. While petting her head she didn't growl or anything, just silent. Trying to look at her, she kept turning her face away too (this probably hurt the most). She is not a happy camper. I tried holding her but she got very pissed about this, making sure I was aware that I was violating her rights as a furmerican citizen. Ended up putting her back on the cat tower where she returned to hunkering down and once again gave me the silent treatment as I pet her head and apologized profusely. I really hope she's just upset and didn't get hurt, but she didn't make it easy to check her legs.

Wife just got up and fed them, and she came out to eat. They all got some tasty wet food and she lapped it up. Then she moseyed into my office and started the post meal paw licking and groom session. I think maybe she's going to be okay and it just came as a shock to her that I would be so negligent to her existence under the leg rest. She's never laid there before, always with me or in the chair next to me, but I clearly should have known better. I'm not so sure she'll be willing to return to such a location.
