honestly value depends on how you see it , if your missing a pet and have a doot already then whalla becomes valuable. Ofcourse for that price you can better pets espcially for the amount you spend.

Sheepy and doot since they each kill a game mechanic. Rift stalker if your in w7 for the head start in research

There's not really much "QOL" in the same way as pig. Doot comes the closest, and is by far the best pet in the game upon reaching world 5, but does literally nothing before that point and can be extremely expensive to obtain ingame, and hard to find through trading.

I'd argue the biggest bang for your buck early on (excluding sheep/ram/pig) are the pets that boost Damage, XP, Drop Rate and portal kills. Multipliers to these stats will significantly speed up grinding in many situations, and you're overall always going to get use out of them. There's certainly some amazing pets that boost specific mechanics, but a lot of those are unlocked way later on and just not worth worrying about early on.
