Turn it off, because the timing Auto uses abilities is weirdly inconsistent, so turning it off lets you use the Raise Dead ability WAY more often. noone is clearing the final resource node anyways at that depth no matter the pow, which is the limiter for how deep you can go (because the hole ends up spawning underneath a final node)

Amber runs require you to care about 2 things:

1. Elixir loadout
2. Which maps you've got the POW and Stamina to delve deep in comfortably

You follow the recommended elixir loadouts and depending on your POW/Team Stamina, you'll be focusing on a few specific caves. Your goal is to clear every depth of objects before proceeding to the next. You do this until you either run out of stamina (almost, you'll want to rope out) or you start gettin resisted a bunch (and you have to plan when to rope out so you don't brick your run).

With this in mind, go read the early game guide for spelunking in the pins.
