I like do to a full column of each crop (2x Mushie/Glassy so all columns are filled), locking the bottom 3 rows (I have the 4th row cuz I'm a filthy 🐳). Once all the crops are up (Medals don't have to be harvestable) so I have the first row as the 2nd crop and the bottom 3 rows as the 1st crop, I then do my bean trade, unlock everything, harvest, then start doing Instagrow (on Medal) => Harvest => Instagrow => Harvest

This is more applicable when you get your better GMOs like Super GMO but you'll see your other crops start to speed up dramatically

One thing to note though, your Crop EVO will be EXTREMELY lower w/o more crops, so at some point you'll notice Instagrows fail to Evo the Medal crop, so leave the map and come back to "update" your evo based on how many crops you've collected since the last map change
