Mantra works a bit differently compared to other Divinity styles. The gains of having all ten characters on mantra will not visually show up in neither afk info screen nor afk claim screen.

In order for your characters to get their fair share of shared exp, you start by first claiming the afk time of a mantra character. The game, upon claiming afk mantra time, will then calculate what should be sent to the rest of your characters. However, that shared exp also does not show up on the remaining characters afk claim screen, but it does get added to your divinity exp bar none the less!
The easiest way to make sure mantra is working for you is to claim all afk time on all mantra characters, and watch your exp bars on the rest of your characters go up.

(Shared exp from the bubo's lab talent also works the same way! Gotta claim your bubo first to let the game know how much exp should be shared)

Oh, no, the untested portion is just what yields better returns in terms of xp vs points, since Mantra doesn't give points, you're banking on it pushing people to Vitalic faster so you can get points to unlock Purrmep (which is a 2x point multiplier) compared to just sticking on Focus (or splitting Focus/Vitalic) and pushing to 25 that way

Mantra will gives points in like 99% of cases, make sure you remove/untalent Exp Converter if you have it, as that does cause issues with Bubo's lab exp sharing, so it might also cause issues with mantra

I'm also unsure if Biggie Hours card/2x exp works with mantra's sharing, which may be why it was mentioned to swap off Mantra and to Vitalic if you were above 50% (from the old !guide)

hard to say, but my guess is that your daily reset happened earlier, so you got all your daily spawn crystals which boosted your statue/zenith rate

you get most of your statues from crystals, so doing things to improve spawning those and more DR should give you more statues

depends on what you're doing
skilling, nearly always (research is basically the one outlier)
combat - portal pushing, sometimes: map/class dependant (like DK sucks on w6 eggs cause of layout) or if your stats suck and you should be working on non-pushing things
combat - farming: rare drops, usually (spend active time on AC to boost DR/afk on things like clammies and then candy)
combat - crystal mobs: no

otherwise you're typically on DK/AC for crystal farming or alch grinding
WW can also be an option for breeding progress
