there are 2 modes:
normal (one you are in right now)
pallette - get 100x bits but 100x less speed, and cap get dyed plants that give very strong (even a lot of out of game) bonuses
you can toggle between them with a button at any time, doing so clears all plants you had BUT it also triggers chemicals and voraccis
so by getting very high cycles on your main garden you can get chemicals/voraccis so that when you switch pallette on you get some plants, water and log there and can pick them for MAD amounts of bits and pallette bonuses

I just hit Auto and typically it will trigger on it's own once everything is dead. I don't think it considers the enemies spawned from the gravestone
