In order for your characters to get their fair share of shared exp, you start by first claiming the afk time of a mantra character. The game, upon claiming afk mantra time, will then calculate what should be sent to the rest of your characters. However, that shared exp also does not show up on the remaining characters afk claim screen, but it does get added to your divinity exp bar none the less!
The easiest way to make sure mantra is working for you is to claim all afk time on all mantra characters, and watch your exp bars on the rest of your characters go up.

(Shared exp from the bubo's lab talent also works the same way! Gotta claim your bubo first to let the game know how much exp should be shared)

At engineer level 24 there is a chance to double any bonus you gain from ringing. With Bolaia's study, you get a large bonus every time you ring the bell 20 times. So you would reset the bell to gain the benefit of these two bonuses. You would also reset if those bonuses are going into things you don't want (such as torch chance).

I would only use it if you're checking every 2-4 hours (i.e. before your loot pile fills up for the loot bonus, turn if off when going to sleep) or after you've collected all your artifacts
The artifact % chance you gain from upgraded chests is essentially useless and you also aren't even guaranteed to upgrade the chest, leading to fewer chests (and thus fewer chances to roll for artifacts) in the long run

DB should speed things up, but your first early goal is to get more plots and more crops, so swap at least one plot back to basic seed to push evos there
