Yes, this is very typical. Up through Stormy North Island (lightning treasure), the sovereign odds are pretty bearable. Starting from Snow South (snowman treasure), the odds drop considerably (easy hundreds to tens of thousands times harder). You will need to get comfortable farming days/weeks on end at <0.05% find odds.

WARNING: Seeing 0.01% odds doesn't actually mean you are at 0.01% find chance. 0.01 is simply the lowest displayed odds whereas your actual odds might be much lower.

Looking at the almost-billion-kills on this character alone, it sure seems that way.

heres how it works the obol on the right side can be destroyed when fusing(only bronze and silver obols can be destroyed) you want to reroll the pop obols and dice obols when you get them, well you want to reroll one of them get the extra dr and put it on the left side, the second obol(the one on the right) doesnt need to be rerolled when fusing

main thing is getting the extra drop chance to roll you can get other addition bonuses on it like exta luck but that doesnt matter lol

you only reroll it at the start though once you fuse it you dont need to reroll again, thats why you do the rerolling at the start, cuz itll save a lot of fragments in the long run

ok so for example if you get 2 pop obols and fuse them to silver itll come out with 3 drop chance, but if you reroll one of them to have 3drop chance at bronze and put it on the left side of the fuse spot, you get another bronze obol that has a 2 drop chance on it fuse them into silver then that silver pop obol has a 4 drop chance instead of the 3 drop chance it wouldve had

When/Why should I be resetting/renewing the Bell in the Hole?
At Engineering Level 11, you will unlock the 'Triple Tap Tinkle' schematic which gives a higher chance at +2 levels per ring with a new chance of +3 levels per ring. This is the first point at which it is recommended to do a Bell Reset.

With the release of C11-15, there are 2 new bonuses (extra rupie chance for C11 and double torch chance for C15), a new schematic ('All This Ringing in my Ears' at Engi 24), and Studies (5th villager Librarian) which provide massive bonus levels. Resetting the bell is an important tool to RNG into proper bonuses from here on out.

For instance, Bell Study at level 10 provides 200 levels every 20 rings. This massive amount can trigger the 2x bonus from 'All This Ringing in my Ears' resulting in 400 levels for a single click. Even without triggering any other bonus, this results in an average 20.95 levels/ring -- compared to a good average of 1.8 levels/ring prior to C11-15 release. This potentially allows for massive Bell bonuses so long as you RNG procs into desired bonuses.
