For the VMan unlock quest to get 1M deathnote kills on every mob, I plan to double up on efficiency by using only my BB to also get my 1M chows done at the same time. Is this a good idea?
No. Due to the immense amount of power locked behind VMan talents, you want to get it unlocked as soon as possible. Using only 1 character to slowly progress this is not in your best interest. Additionally, 1M is not even the final breakpoint you will be aiming for with BB so there's no reason to delay getting VMan given the fact that you'll need to farm out more DN kills again later. It is best to get your 1M kills for W1-3 using your best characters (if not your entire roster) and simply return later to get your BB its 1M kills or when you go for the 100M (Superchows) or 1B (Wows).

1. es is fine to push w5 as - if you are worried about divinity, just make sure to swap spec on es before you claim any divinity time on your other characters and you will still have full benefit. afk is never 'continously calculated' but done all at once when you claim

3. don't use slush skull - its noob bait, even w4 shop skull is better than it - don't be fooled by the misc stat on it

Hard cap, no, but like with the alchemy discounts each successive purchase gives a smaller decrease of the cost, and also the wish cost is scaling upwards, so eventually you'll get to a point where you aren't getting much benefit from it

Any bubbles with caps are limit-based/logarithmic (i.e. you can approach 100% but you'll never get there). You can see this in Toolbox's alchemy view here, for 100% and 99%, the missing levels are in ( )
So yes, soft cap, but you can determine how much effort you want to put into it
