Mantra works a bit differently compared to other Divinity styles. The gains of having all ten characters on mantra will not visually show up in neither afk info screen nor afk claim screen.

In order for your characters to get their fair share of shared exp, you start by first claiming the afk time of a mantra character. The game, upon claiming afk mantra time, will then calculate what should be sent to the rest of your characters. However, that shared exp also does not show up on the remaining characters afk claim screen, but it does get added to your divinity exp bar none the less!
The easiest way to make sure mantra is working for you is to claim all afk time on all mantra characters, and watch your exp bars on the rest of your characters go up.

(Shared exp from the bubo's lab talent also works the same way! Gotta claim your bubo first to let the game know how much exp should be shared)

Yes. DB has a handful of buffs that only apply to other master classes. (later into the grimoire unlocks.)

I assume other classes might have the same, including stuff that could potentially buff his bone gains.

I still don't comprehend how some people get to like 20M villager xp. I compared with Shiro and he gets almost twice my xp with 80 opals while I'm using 120 opals. And the xp gains are mostly similar.

Xp is linear from monuments, so you can get lots of it, opals become harder and harder to get and at least in my experience, hardly change xp rates other than the 10th
