always. the speed it gives only gets better with upgrades and more speed = more plants for more mutation rolls and more evo levels which all vastly outweigh the 3x deficit
it's a 3x additive (subtractive?) difference, so it's basically nothing, even at the start

the crop scientist bonus that gives evo chance is just rolled in with speed, they're essentially the same thing. Around 160 crops found and ~250 fert/squirrel/kitsune levels you can hit instant gaming and 5s before that

5s gaming is when all your crops respawn in ~5s intervals, regardless of what your fert speed says (crop sci bonus doesn't update it) and happens outside of W5 town, video here

div levels are honestly more important for dooters since you get access to all minor link bonuses which scale with levels

How to gain DR if you're just starting

-# aka cards and obols are in shambles and you have single digit DR

• Start with ES, grab c.Amarok pendant, and work on Card DR cards (gigafrog, snelbie, stache) probably to 4* (now passive through Vault!)

• Then farm DR and Crystal Spawn cards(ES), W1-3 can be 4*, W4-5 can be 2-3 star for now

• Back to Gigafrogs to farm Pop Obols (ES), a full set of bronze for family and personal, then reroll all of them to 3%, then upgrade to silver (place rerolled obol in left side of combine area, add a base 2% on the right)

• Next, if you have Choco Chip, you can start working on Dice Obols (full silvers, then reroll and slowly upgrade for every slot), generally from W2 Sandy Pots on DK, you also get Silver Pens to fill out your PO Box for DR/Crystal Chance

• Note: if you don't have Choco yet, work on your Shrine, c.Chiz card, and star talent

• Make sure you're keeping up with Owl for a bit more DR, yellow bubble, and max out Vault

Work towards Kruk and GS gear
Cavern, Equinox, and Endless Summoning all provide more stacking sources of DR, too
If you're beyond all this, Plunders are a great way to boost DR and Golden Cakes for Beanstalk + personal

@hearty shore they're for different slots. if you mean dice vs kruk, either keep the one that's more important to you on, or just swap to kruk when claiming afk and swap back to DR when active
i usually just keep dice on the family cause i'm lazy (and most people are in hole so it doesn't matter)
