I did it once I got the sailing artifact that gives extra skill efficiency to w1 - w3 skills.

gear doesn't matter, just something to shoot for once you get to that world. with all the bonuses from vault, it's pretty quick to push through w5. extra talent levels can give more talent points though, so if you feel you need it, then just pop over and afk/candy a bit
