the improvement for the first boat is 11 for 700 bars, and the 2nd is 150 for fewer bars

yes the bottom left one, undending loot, you don't want to put points in that because it makes it so your boat will not stay and fil your chest pile but try to upgrade them, making you lose chest technically

and in sailing quantity > quality

usually people would have 2 hours or less boat travel time and come back every 2 hour or so, BUT if you can't check every 2 hour and more like 8 hour or more you could use undending loot
