The early levels are relatively straight forward and easy
You usually have like 90-80% percent to level up and 3-10% to reset
Reset means a complete reset to 0 or to the closest 5 (5, 10, 15, 20) you have reached if you got the last Atom upgrade in the Atom Collider

So for you right now. Just click the upgrade button every 3 days and hope to get to level 5. Best would be if you then can buy the Atom to have this "save point" and then upgrade until you reach level 10 -> Buy level 2 of the Atom to get a "save point" at lvl 10

Does that make sense? You don't really need to look at the encourage button until you reach lvl 13 or so

If it rolls 1-98 it rolls another die. If this rolls 1-12 I reset, but if it rolls 13-100 it just stays at the current level

So the chance for a reset is actually lower than the snail shows you

Play how you want but with the pace of the game, even not rushing w5 imo, you’ll be at the boss at a point where most classes can’t beat the boss. ES and DK have the easiest time with the boss (check pins for dmg reference numbers).
You can always push SB and then work on dmg and if too slow, then start pushing with DK/SB.

IDK where you are, but you'll get to a point where you're getting pens pretty much from any active farming/activity you do. And with some other perks, you can sometimes not spend a pen, or have a chance at multiple rewards per pen (not including the streak stuff at PO itself).

I do a ~100 pen streak a day at PO box and reset the streak. Don't do anymore, but I keep getting enough pens to do that pretty consistently.
