If you check every 2h, you're already collecting the chests and they won't upgrade unless you let them make another trip.

Upgrading isn't guaranteed so if they come back with 1 chest and start another trip, they could already bring back another chest instead of a chance at potentially upgrading the first chest they brought back.

So you always get 2 chests rather than a potentially upgraded one which isn't guaranteed with the same amount of time invested.

Think of it this way, if you check after 2 hours you have one chest worth say 40k loot and 0.75 artifact chance. With unending loot, the boat comes back and increases the chest to 60k loot or something.

Without it, the boat brings back another chest with another chance at an artifact

Make sure to alch properly.
Gear isn't everything, but make srue you use w5 stones on gear/rings/neck AND TOOLS. Chiz helm + chiz scarf are prob worth investing into at some point if dmg is an issue by the time you get to boss.
Pushing w5 with ES you may run into a point where you get 1 shot by crystal mobs on the map, if you have this issue equip the biggest red pot you can buy in a food slot.

active pushing will be so much faster for your ES than AFKing

Just unlocked equinox, what’s the deal with equinox resources? Should I prioritize them?

and fishing is good to get people up to 30 so they can afk at seasalt

you'll also eventually need the ore for gear, can't remember about the other mats

can't remember how progressed you are though, so if you can get the resources unlocked, great, but don't hard focus on it if they're too far out of reach

the greater your chance to hit it, the bigger your theoretical afk gains are, thus leading to bigger samples...I assume is how it works
