Eventually they are "different" farms with loot value coming from the common resource and speed coming from the rare resource of islands (on your later boats)

the "ideal" setup is based on the individual. we cannot know what your lab levels are, which connection range jewels/nodes you have active.
that's a judgment call you have to make.

i personally never utilize 2 nobisect cause that's a luxury i cannot afford cause i don't have 1 of the connection range jewels. i need 9 to keep my lab lit up, and even then i'm sacrificing a few jewels.

For T1-T5 evolutions, you will get them naturally and easily over time as you progress through gaming. Do not save your sprouts, just harvest them all.
For T6, you will get them all by time you reach around ~1B/T red bits.
For T7/8, do not go for them until you are at 5s/instant gaming (very late stage) - requires deep farming (W6 skill).

How do I maximize the Omniphau 2 minute AFK claims to get hours and hours of skill progress? Seems like I am creating lot of gains out of nothing and want to capitalize on it.
No. Unfortunately, you didn't discover some crazy time loop.
The game displays all AFK claims rounded up to next whole hour, but only provides benefits for the actual time you AFKed. So if you AFK for 2 minutes, the game will show 1 HR on a claim but your benefits are only for those 2 minutes.
You've probably heard the term "2 minute claims" thrown around here quite often. The concept of "2 minute claims" only applies to two situations: a) 2 minute claims only on archers to maximize your forge procs utilizing a high KPH map using the Smeltin' Every Day talent or b) 2 minute claims on any class to maximize genes from utilizing DNA splicers. Outside of these 2 situations, there are no "2 minute claims".
