Do your achievements. Every achievement is a 3% increase (multiplicative) increase to bits. And you get very easy ones like have 1500 oak, 20k fibre forest, 200k plat ore, 30k gold ore, defeat enemies while in a group, etc
Doing the easy ones should give you over 2x bits

You can only check Crop chance in ie, but both websites should show how much crops are needed. So you can plan ahead.
