You can buy the upgrades to each from the divinity itself and I think minor links are global even if not linked to that divinity but I’m not sure on that

Nothing super duper necessary in gemshop for W5, most of it is either QoL to speed things up. If you have gems to burn, I'd recommend at least one golden sprinkler for Gaming since that does unlock it faster

Without unending loot, your boats will drop off one chest, then when they come back with a second chest they'll just wait at the dock. This way is better for artifacts if you can reliably check every 2-3 hours, since you get more individual chests

But if you're lazy or can't check more than once or twice a day, Unending Loot can help by getting more loot you can use to upgrade, you just get fewer artifact chances since you only get that one round of chests

I unlocked the god Purrmep but even when I linked him to a character, I didn't receive a doubling of the displayed Divinity Points. A friend also unlocked it and he had the doubling immediately. Could it be because of the Pet Dot that I already have and he doesn't?
I also waited a day to see if the daily reset did anything, but unfortunately nothing. I've already tried unlinking and linking again.

Besides doing Realm, and all the other normal stuff, If you need dmg keep working on Pets/Tunnels, and if you really want to know then the full process would be: Get around 5-5.5* Damage, upgrade Asylum Eviscerate Shrine and the Pink Mope Mop Tank in Pets to have a total of +12 or +11 on both together, and then go to Teehee3 or 4(be able to get at least T or Q kills amounts from AFK gains), go to Cards tab and back to Fight tab, close the game on Fight and wait like 5 minutes to make sure you see that you get kills on TH15.

correct, as long as you have level 2 divinity, you have all the major bonuses (and blessings?) of every divinity

you still need to unlock to link for minor bonuses, i believe, and upgrade blessings

i also feel like you still needed to link to purrmep or something, but can't remember

most of my doot knowledge is from when it launched so idk what's changed in the last 6 months, if anything

for those easy early unlocks, but then alchemy is way more important than a handful more atoms when you can't actively produce them
