I just beat the boss with my bb if you want to know the min-max damage you need for that character, it took forever but it slowly drained them, i was gonna give up when i saw your message earlier but thought id give it a shot and try to min max it

I have the similar struggle as you. I just get most chars till level 200 and then let them sit in altar. Skilling would be easy if u have various buffs and balloons.
