Today I realized that it is dayum easy to level fishing on my underleveled chars in the equinox area - even without tools and any other efficiency boosters, I get INSANE experience on the fishing waterfall there. But not even my specialized skillers are able to harvest the wood or ore there. Is there any way to make the same work for the other resources? Leveling those has become extremely tedious atm around lvl45 for me.

I think the minimum requirements for gaining fishing exp are much lower if existing at all. I am currently leveling my mage's fishing there without ANY additional efficiency boosts, not even wearing a tool. Takes roughly 10 min to reach lvl 30 which is all I want right now in order to visit crystal island on him.

If you don't have enough efficiency you will not get anything on any skill. But since fishing usually have 4 different resources to get it makes the efficiency bar a bit wonky.
The only reason you can fish is because the first efficiency indicator (yellow x) is at all the way left)

Like defense, atk all that stuff does nothing, but introduce something new, frost resitance, fire restistance type stuff, so you cant just snowplow through it all but need to actually get/level something completely new to push. The QQQQ dmg won't help since you need something new type thing.

Certain classes clearing certain zones faster than others doesnt really do much though as your map progression is per character so you still clear the world on everyone anyway
