Your prio after getting atoms unlocked is to atom things that give you more samples to get more atoms

You probably don't have many atoms to spend right now. Focus on upgrading wood samples with gear/farmable bubbles/easy stamps/prayers/etc... while unlocking new types of atoms until you hit Oxygen since it's important.

After that, focus on purple bubbles, larry, whatever else to get your samples going while you farm mats to get other things into atom range

Then more boron, more bubbles, shift to hourly clicks, etc...

Usually you leave it at the lowest so you don't waste Chests. Boats can come back without a Chest and need to go another ~2 hours. Also Boats that wait in Dock can also have a low rarity chest, which just get deleted

I imagine you would need it if you are leaving ships for quite a long time. So they each brough high rarity chests and THEN start improving them with bowman tallent.

With unending loot, your ships go out until the pile is at full minus 1. Then every chest they get from then on has a chance to upgrade a previous chest

Pretty much. Unending loot is good for leveling up captains, bad for artifacts and loot

Ships are ready around 5-6 hours. And even then More Chests with very slightly lower chances > Half the Chests with slightly higher chances
