You also had lab done heading in to W5 so the benefits of goat div were a lot smaller as you could just arctis div for the same effect. Newer accounts need the lab exp too so camping focus for div points to get goat asap has a lot of merit

You essentially sacrifice points for XP, however you won't even reach the higher levels that give more points, while you could just caqmp the best points and get all the beneficial gods (upto at least goat or even better tiger/omni) before switching and considering.

I didnt care about goat much early on because I could reach the end of the lab fairly early into W5 anyway so arctis was good enough

For sure. Even with some of my time in W4, I only had 40-50 lab levels. But I also had 2 Bubos then, with 1 always giving out exp via Essence Transfer.

After Goat, I slapped my usual labrats onto Goat + Mantra while everyone else gained passive levels in both

early on I'd take it off to min max your exp/samples. But later with Grind Time bubble it doesnt matter you can leave it on without stressing

Yeah, the exp loss is negligible. If you look at the Class EXP in your main screen of the inventory, that -81% is only a -0.81x hit to that number. Sooo many other things effect this stat and the printer gains are so valuable that it's almost never NOT worth having Royal Sampler up. You usually only level it to 11 because eventually you can hit 90% sample rate without it.

I'll give a few suggestions instead.
Snake: Boosts overall skilling, good for getting skill exp quickly/leveling up quickly, good for sampling as well
Bear: Good for keeping your characters uploaded in lab, generally used for pushing worlds or letting that character level up in a different skill.
Nobisect: Great for pushing through monster maps, with its damage and multikill
Harriep: Best for printing, triples the samples you have
Flutterbis: Good for pearl collecting, which will boost other character's skill levels up to 30, resulting in better tools.
Purrmep: Recommended to be chosen on the 2nd ES's double link talent or Beast Master, good for advancing in sailing in gaming (ofc)
Omniphau: Gives you skill AFK time equal to the time your character has AFKed. Skill AFK time includes: Refinery, Breeding, Cooking, 3D printer, Sailing, and Gaming.
Badgur and Kattlekruk have no use as of now.

u cant use raise dead as fast as if u were in a good respawn

so the extra mobs respawning due to very high mob respawn, helps u use raise dead faster
