It wasn't a misconception, there was a literal bug for a long time that when handing in more than 1 level's worth of statues didn't correctlly calculate the carried over statues from the previous llevel for more than just the first gained. This was long tested and proved and raised all the time. It has since been fixed

Your ships that have an extra chests won't always give you a chest, since those can still be bronze chest and thus they get filtered without a chest to open. rather open 20 more chests at 0.02% than 5 chests at 0.03%

A couple of reasons:

1. 6 hours would be the absolute bare minimum you want to compare against, because 6 hours is the time to get 50 chests
2. Both fillter and merge always trigger at the last chest, so you will never have a full llloot pille, meaning the most chests you can possiblly get is 29 from either method
3. Filter is literally as basic as "the chest this ship just got it not at least this rank, so I am not going to add it to loot pile", which can mean you don't even get 29 chests
4. Merge will only merge if the chest that is gained is of a rank that is already in your loot pile, so is reliant on RNG in the first place and most commonly al lyou'lll see is mostllly bronze/silver and maybe a few higher tiers
5. In terms of pure statistics, having doublle the amount of wood chests to open is just better than some of them having a slightly higher chance at getting artifacts

For World 1 it's Beans: #lategame-chat-w5🌋-w6🌸 message a nice little guide I made that shows why people farm Beans. It's the best map for Crystal farming most of the time

World 2: Sandpots. You get extra glass shards there - Theoretically Tysons is better, but you lose out on Glass Shards that you need for the mason jar stamp

World 3: Bloodbones - extremely flat map with a good amount of Mobs - Alternatively Neyeptunes for extra black lenses, but I don't know how they compare

World 4: Clammies - Same as bloodbones, extremely flat map and drops extra pearlers for Tools or the Vial

World 5: Wurms is best closely followed by Citringes - Wurms give extra keys + XP + Money, but take more damage to kill - SO if you are earlier you can go for Citringes

If you manage to get a 90% sample rate without royal sampler you can't really say no to the Drop rate midas gives you
The only time you can make use of the no praying is in Colo 2, since Midas makes Colo 2 unplayable
