1. loot capacity. sailing artifacts are main w5 progression
2. w5 skill xp. you'll be sitting on divinity for a while, and skill levels help so its good to get it started early
3. respawn. portals get huge in w5
4. boss armor. recommended to save 5 points in preparation for boss armor, that way you'll be able to unlock all the pieces without having to do additional tasks
5. tab4 talent points and star talent: you might be low on elite tab talent points and stats when you're new to w5 but there are other sources. you can prioritize these over boss armor if you're not confident in crafting later armor

If I had collider set to OFF the 15m setting wouldn't have screwed me

Yes. Meals like corn dogs, eggs, and cabbage (or lettuce idr) will increase cook speed and with Vman talent, your combined levels of all your meals will increase cooking speed.
