If it does, you're stuck upgrading characters anywhoos and you'll know because.. they didn't all die.

Its nice, but you split your ships anyways, and have the slowest ones hitting lower islands while fast ones hit the highest islands. Else you get "stuck" with all low content done (if you focused all boats there) and then half your ships would be useless for a while.
