Don't know about crafting, but getting big mat bags, leveling up anvil bubble (at least 200+), going x3 threads and putting a few points into xp in the anvil will definitely make you go up real fast (don't forget anvil whetstone)

Games that implement forced ads get a big drop off when the they hit. Optional adds, don't drop off as many players, because the players feel in control of when they view the add. Generally Optional Adds get attached to minor bonuses.

Like a limit 1 per day "watch this ad to get 15 pachinko balls" or something.
