I'm part of the same boat, don't mind p2w in that context, especially if it's a mechanic of something where essentially a new player could just pay to catch up if they wanted to but not needed. In fact I think in a longer time investment game such as this that's probably a good idea to have.

Even with the pet system it's rough but I could understand it with a bit better f2p functionality but if it was intended for more p2w. I think part of the problem is that historically, by Lava's own words and intent, he was steering away from p2w mechanics. So updates are taken in that context and understandably so. I think if he had been upfront with the update and just admitted that "hey, this is mainly a p2w mechanic but I'm giving some minor accessibility for f2p" it would've still been badly received but not nearly to this degree.

Basically all the negativity came as a result in a deviation from expectations on the game set by the dev himself and then coupled with poor communications on intent as well as follow up with the straight bans of people voicing malcontent.

It’s weird though. Depending on the talent points you put in you connect w a certain god. Anything ending w 0 is the snake, 1 the bear, 2 nobi, etc.

Unfortunately I think probably one of the biggest problem was the wave of bans that came in. Don't get me wrong I think that there was a lot of excessive people and they needed a timeout. But the hard bans from criticism is a little rough. There should've been some sort of statement by Lava or mods to the server about people going to far and consequences. And even then I'd say not perma ban but maybe temp ban situation.

So yes, as the dev he can do whatever he wants with the game, that is his right as the owner of the game. I'm not denying the difficulty in what he has undertaken either. But the reality is is that the game was also grown with the community and that's part of what was really fun about it. People were invested and wanted to see it succeed. It was evident by all the third party sites and spreadsheets people spent hours working on to help others progress. Even the discord is evident of how this was suppose to be community based since there's literal question channels where you can ask other players for help. So it's not about his ability and right to do what he wants with the game. It's about the seeming betrayal of the ideals and community the he himself tried to build originally.

Nah, you don't need to have it connected. This artifact makes that node kinda useless. You can test it out by changing maps from your shrines to see for urself if ur shrines effects still apply.

Books is the best as it's the main thing that is time gated., you get 2 books for the 8.
That'll be like over a 2-6h skip, especially (once you have your 1k achievement and are going for 20x max book checkouts when you have like 16-18 books, skipping the last 2-4 books in that will net you a way bigger time jump.

Refinery cycles get worse and worse the further you are ingame as their time decreases drastically and remains static. So for me 8x Refinery (8 skull cost) would be about a 10minute skip) vs 2 books being multiple hours. U also skip refinery cycle time with omni elephant and daily DK talents. Books arnt being skipped and the sooner u get that 1k checkout the sooner you have +5 max cap.

Candy to me is terrible as its a 1-2h candy for 5 points, and only 5% for 4h. Feels very low, your minibosses and giants will give you such a ton more especially if you time your weekly reset with active DK for Orb kills on giants (and minibosses)

So the reason you should use the talent is ONLY if you are going for XP. Not because "the chest may upgrade"

The reason you shouldnt go for the talent is because you may be missing out on a ton of extra chests

for me 50 chests is a lot more beneficial than 29 (30 loot pile + 20 boats)

Early on having some extra captain slots for better options can help. Plus sailing level helps with Tusk => arti chance too.
It's just all a bit of a balance. If you only check your game once a day, then keep the talent for sure as that xp difference would be big. All just some tuning based on your loot size, total boats and how long u afk

Once you have alchemy bubble 15 and or even 17. You should upgrade your bubbles from the proper class. Orange on warri, green archer, purple from a mage. Yellow is not affected.
Since bubble 2 = class benefits from all small bubbles, 15 is cost reduction and 17 affects 15. So the cost reduction becomes massive.

ideally go use max book checkouts on orb and knightly disciple as soon as you can. more duration on those helps get higher orb kill counts

It's pretty simple, all you do is take the monomial and multiply it by leg for the oridinal number, then you need to multiply it by the vinculum to get the optimal spheroid numeral googolplex. Then just divide it by the drop rate. ||jk||

ES: Get card chance cards -> Get drop rate cards -> get crystal chance cards ->
DK: at pots for Dice obols -> ES at GigaFrog for Pop Obols (remember to reroll obols on their lowest form)

Without chocochip still get card chance cards DR cards, then guess you can do ES at giga for the pops

The most important thing is the coin. If you throw the coin on a group clustered together it will bounce around on them hitting them all until it hits the ground. You can use it to take out 20 mobs in a shot in the W2 one
