Just so i can tackle this for you guys,

I’m an Australian Rover Scout,

We have 5 age groups for youth,
Joeys 5-8 years old
Cubs 8-11 years old
Scouts 11-14 years old
Venturer scouts 14-18 years old
Rover scouts 18-25 years old
We have different uniforms for each section.

They all have their own peak awards,

Joeys is the Joey Promise challenge
Cubs is the the grey wolf award
Scouts is the Australian scout Medallion/award
venturers is the king scout award
And rovers is the Baden Powell Award.
They get harder and harder in each section to achieve.
I’ve been in scouts for 11 years. I’m 22 years old.

Scout groups meet weekly here and have school holidays off.
Rovers help the younger sections a lot, help organise and run camps.

I'm a Venture in Ireland 🇮🇪

We also have five age groups
Beavers 6-8 years
Cubs 9-11 years
Scouts 12-14 years
Ventures 15-17 years
Rovers 18-25 years

Beavers and cubs have their own jumpers but scouts, ventures and rovers all use the same uniform with different badges for each section.
We don't have merit badges like most other countries, instead we have adventure skills (camping, backwoods, emergencies, hillwalking, pioneering, air activities, sailing, paddling and rowing) and special interest badges. We also have the Chief Scout Award for each section which runs alongside Gaisce, the Presidential Award in Ireland.
We hold lots of different events throughout the year at group, county, province, national and international level. These include campcraft competitions like the County Shield and Phoenix and hiking events like the Mountain Pursuit Challenge (MPC) and Havoc.

Youth leadership is often encouraged, for example I help out with the Cubs every week.
Most sections meet once a week and have a summer camp each year before taking a break for a couple of months.

I have been in scouts for 10 years now, I'm 17. I absolutely love it because I have so many great memories with some of my best friends.

Help with their world brotherhood badge, this had lead to multiple members of this community complain about unwanted DMs / Spam from Filipino scouts. No, we have Wichtel and Wölflinge, they are 6-10 then Guides and Späher 10-14 then Caravelles and Explorer 14-18, Ranger and Rover 18+ and for the elders there is Gilde

The first Name is always the female one, so I would be a Caravell

And then every Patrol has the Name of an animal, plant or famous person

Its funny and a lot of great friends but really strict. You see, scouting for boys, the book by B.P. was made to educate and strenthen youth and we still want to do that today. On camp every mornig and evening there is a formation at the flag pole, the trupet is played and our flag and Banners lowerd, to us saluting to it. The kids have things like cleaning and cooking duties to harden them and teach them essential skills. It so much fun and I'd give the rest of my life to it ive just noticed, that its a lot stricter and millitary-like then most other coutries

At least thats the philosophy in my group

I am part of the DPSG („Deutsche Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg“), which itself if a part of the RdP („Ring der Pfadfinder“, that’s the one in Germany that is acknowledged by WOSM) our movement was founded in 1929 was then banned in 1938 and resurfaced after the Second World War with our higher levels of organization reestablished in 1947. We are the largest Sub-Movement in Germany with around 85-90k members. In addition our organization has a camp site in Westernohe which is able to host and accommodate several thousand scouts.

When, how, and why did scouting start in your country?

The precursor of our actual scout movement was the Wandervogelbewegung, they were founded in 1896 and were another youth movement with somewhat similar traits. On base on that BPs Book „Scouting for Boys“ found a large interest in wait and the scout movement spread fairly quickly in Germany with the first groups being formed in 1911.

For me it’s about fun and about the friends I made during the last… 18 years… and to be fair there’s always something new around the corner. Although it can also be quite stressful and demanding from time to time… the positives are far greater.
