So i was woundering if there is a diffrence in how scouts around the world keep there scrafs toghter do you tie it or use a holder or something else

for u s its either a friendship tie or a knot/ring or both in combination (sometimes even several rings/knots)

by scout i have a friendship tie from a good friend from another groupwith whom i am doing stuff since 12 years now, a selfmade leather knot and a leather ring showcasing our scout groups symbol

here its down to the individual but typically it will just be, when in uniform wear it with a woggle (the slider,ring, holder) and when out of uniform then a friendship knot is tied

Ah alr so fireknop/friendship knot is pretty universal got it personally in my Group we use fireknop Also knowen as the friendship knot I have tied 95% of the peoples scarfes bc I am the only One who remebers in my groip

here in Italy we usually keep things of camps or activities and we tie our neckerchief with them, I even have something of 6 years ago on mine

For the boys from 8 yo to 11, they do two knots : a simple knot when they receive their scarf to simply hold it together, and then a second one at the bottom to remind them to do their good turn.
Girls of this age group, on the other hand, ties it with a friendship knot.
Then comes the 12 to 17 yo, until you pass the rank of aspirant before you say your promise, you keep your old knot. Then, you have to tie you woggle, which is then later given to you with a full ceremony, and this is the one you are supposed to keep for the rest of your scout life.
The only "customisation" you can add to this is the type and colour of leather thread you use for the woggle, or the presence of a scout rosary
