What are the age groups in your country?
Ireland/Éire
Beavers: 6-8
Cubs: 9-11
Scouts: 12-14
Ventures: 15-17
Rovers: 18-25
Scouters: 18+
@plain vapor has leveled up! (29 ➜ 30)
USA:
Cub scouts: 5-10/11
Scouts BSA: 10/11-18
Venturing: 14-18, 18-21AP
Sea Scouts: 14-18, 18-21AP
Explorers: 10-20
(AP: adult participant. Used to distinguish between adult leaders and adults still in the program. Primarily for legal/youth protection reasons)
Venturing and Sea Scouts are the closest thing we have to rovers
Infact Venture Crews are based off you used it
Rover crews
They are the remains of the old BSA rover program
This is just the BSA, our largest NSO. There are some smaller ones, but I don’t know much about them
At least in the BSA
There’s also some discontinued programs such as Air scouts and Varsity scouts, but I don’t know much about them
I know a bit about varsity
Brazil
Ages:
Ramo Lobinho: 6,5 - 10
Ramo Escoteiro: 11-14
Ramo Senior: 15-17
Ramo pioneiro: 18-21
Chefe Escoteiro: 18+
We have 3 types of scout groups:
Escoteiro (scout)
Escoteiro do ar (air scouts)
Escoteiro do mar (sea scouts)
Here in the UK Scout Association, we have:
Squirrel Scouts 4-6
Beaver Scouts 6-8
Cub Scouts 8-10
Scouts 10-14
Explorer Scouts 14-18
Scouts Network 18-25
Scout Leader 18+
There is also the Young Leader programme for the Explorer age
where they can be a "junior leader" of sorts for any of the younger sections
We also have Air and Sea Scouts
I'm impressed there are people who want to take care of 4-6 years old children jdjcjd
yep, it's actually a new section that just celebrated it's 2nd birthday, alot of people arent for it and tbh I don't blame em 🤣
In Poland there are:
Zuchy: 6-9
Harcerze: 10-13
Harcerze starsi: 13-16
Wędrownicy: 16-21
If you're older you become "senior". If you're 16 you can also become Instruktor. It's usually for people who want to be leaders of their own scouts group in the future or just want to organise something for others. You have to complete special courses and several tasks that generally include organising something for younger scouts. There are three types of "Instruktor":
Przewodnik- 16+
Podharcmistrz- 18+
Harcmistrz- 21+
And you have to be the previous one to become another (If I want to become Podharcmistrz, I have to become Przewodnik first)
Yeah I'm a leader of polish "beaver scouts" and I can't imagine having even younger ones
Would you mind If I talk to each of you on pv? I don't want to skip any person and their country and I'm afraid on this group it's more likely to happen jdncjd
Feel free to dm me with any US scouting questions
In Sweden we have: 7 Bäverscouter (Beaver scouts) only a few groups have them not offical part of the nso. 8-9 Spårarscouter (Tracker scouts). 10-11 Uptäckarscouter (Explorer scouts). 12-14 Äventyrarscouter (adventurer scouts). 15-18 Utmanarscouter (challenger scouts). 19-25 Roverscouter (Rover scouts).
In the Netherlands we have
Bevers (beaver scouts) 6-8
Welpen (cub scouts) 9-11
Scouts 12-15
Explorers 15-17
Roverscouts 18-21
Most groops also have oudstam, which is for everyone over 21
