What if the character customisation update needed to be pushed out before the Alan Wake update, because the AW update involves a ghost or ghost event that will mimic players' appearances? I've learned to love shades. Especially on zero sanity. Whenever i get a shade on zero sanity, and i stand in its room, it often changes rooms so that it can hunt. So the ghost room is always the coldest room no matter the ghost

The ghost room will always be below 5 degrees (celcius) after enough time, and will only ever be 0 celcius or below if the ghost has freezing temp evidence

And events are typically random, things like mist breath attacks, and apparitions (usually coming with spooky muted humm) is pretty much meant to drain player sanity so it can hunt sooner.

Most ghosts have a sanity threshold before they can hunt which is mostly about 60% on average

Well foggy breath can be an indicator of cold but it depends on the weather type

If you see foggy breath from your character it is definitely a sign to check with your thermometer too

Since I assume you have the tier 1 thermo, you can bring along 2 in missions, leave one in the suspected ghost room

That's how I did it anyway when I wasn't 100% sure

Once you manage to unlock at least Tier 2 equipment some stuff makes it so much easier to find the ghost room.

No, they only removed them in practice. Showing the whole body does not really count as an "animation", and is really crappy when of course your body does not move with the body of the character because of course the tracking only happens in the head and hands. Also the hands are simply two unmovable bricks, the fingers do not move anymore, the interaction with objects in massively reduced in terms of animation. The journal is in such a weird position, it is impossible to grab it most of the times

First off, I'm the art director. I didnt make any of these animations, models or anything for this update, I just approved things as they came in.

Secondly, alot of the things people have problems with will be fixed, and arent due to animation quality, but due to the system that powers the IK rig that moves everything around to make sure it looks correct in both 1st person and multiplayer.

Most of the problems people have should be quick fixes (reposing an item, removing a wrist animation etc), they just take time, this update had to come out before AW next week, and we'll continue to work on it as time progresses. The game is still plenty playable and once you get used to it, you might even forget some of the jank thats happening.

Keep the feedback coming, we're still early access despite the size / quality of the game, and we'll fix it all as it comes! Thanks"

We’re still talking about hating the characters? In all honesty the game has always looked older than it actually is, at least the way I see it. The new characters look a lot fresher than the old ones, sure the animations look a little janky, but I like it.

I haven’t noticed anything besides performance drops. Even then it’s not even unbearable. Yurei and Raiju are supposedly the only ones whose traits are broken right now, I believe. Such things are announced to be fixed on Tuesday, though.

well I've noticed like 3 bugs or so; the lighter counts as a third item if you have them in your inventory already, making you unable to pick up anything until you drop them. The headgear (tier 2) is so buggy it sometimes creates a permanent flashlight on your screen when you use it. I'm having much more trouble using the spirit box since the update. The voice chat sometimes doesn't work when you join a game. And using the video camera makes frames drop so darn quick
