My biggest gripe is how unpolished it looks. The animations are very sloppy and don't take gameplay into account. I was very excited for this update to release as I'm sure most everyone was too.

Far as animations are concerned, I do have another game in mind, which grew in visual quality immensely over a few years of development. Interacting with items remained merely that the character extends their finger at stuff they're pressing (or pushing). It's not unforgivable.

The update isn't for everyone because it actively takes you out of the experience. There's just clippings and gameplay hindrances everywhere where there wasn't before.

The animations are fast, sometimes blocking input but mostly no. They're fine for an initial showing in an early access game. Problem is more that progress is slow.

yeah i just think the animations need a lot of refining and polishing and alternations which, unfortunately, leads to people lowering their expectations for the horror update.

i dont think this update should release, it needs work and actual player feedback. this is kinda why i miss the old phas beta branches you could join back in the day

Game logic indeed! Issue is, what is Phasmophobia projected to be? A twitchy FPS? A tight surfing game? Or in actuality... an atmospheric, immersive, creepy, scary game. This is where people clash with Kinetic. And the game is still visibly far from what it is projected to become. Almost unrealistic to expect them to succeed.

Agreed, it is often the case that people do (or should) value gameplay over visuals. Most likely that this is what has contributed to Phasmophobia's community size. But gotta finish the project some day... the new animations are jank, the old animations are jank, character models were, are, will be jank. Still Kinetic do have a duty to deliver on their promise and ideas. Not that it'd be that bad to officially accept more community feedback.
