I think they've done really well with a lot of the maps they've redone, it's probably the only one that I think they went backwards with, but I literally dont even play it now. I normally play on "random map" but if I get it, I just guess ghost and go next

It was definitely an easier map to play before, and simpler in more ways than one. But I think they mostly succeeded in what they were trying to do. The visual aesthetic especially is top notch.

yeah sounds about right. It does a good job making it feel messy and cramped. A couple rooms are weirdly sized, and I think they went a bit overboard with the rooms that aren't warmed by the breaker.

If the playerbase was larger I would even be keen on them releasing like all the very major versions as playable gamemodes, where you could go onto the computer to choose what version you were on. Unfortunately though it'd take a lot of work to make all those versions playable, and the playerbase is very likely too small to justify that as well

I could rant about the hundreds of changes they made, a lot of them were very major improvements too. For example, you used to not be able to see the item you were holding in your hand which is why they added a little light on your shoulder, so you were able to see it

Thermo's used to have an extra "r" on the side so it said "thermrometer" or something like that, the EMF used to be what is the current tier 2 EMF but it was white instead of black, if you could see your breath it was freezing temperatures, only the ghost room would get cold and I think it was anything below like 11 or 13 or something was immediately the ghost room, ghost orbs used to slingshot across the room and we're so hard to see because they were only very briefly visible and would sometimes just spawn completely outside of the map, you could outrun every ghost except a revenant. The list is just massive

you could try a candle test

Place book on the floor, place emf so you can see on the camera what emf you get for extra you can put candle next to emf for a reaction ( shades are active when you are not in the room/house)

Something that still confuses me a little is whether the ghost can tell where you are on a large map when you use the T3 paramic
(basically, out of range for general electronic detection, but somehow detecting you on the full range of the T3Para's range)

yeah that's a solid way to make the ghost room more obvious. Ghost spawns when you open the front door, and it's something to do in the meantime so you don't have to run all the way back later.

But as far as finding the actual room, it's still the same basic strat: temps, orbs, EMF, or sounds you hear.

Sorry for late reply. It's easier because the building starts off colder, with the ghost cooling it even faster. Since you're spending more time getting the lights turned on, the ghost has more time to do something before the lights restrict its activity.

It's not a major difference of course, but it can often be a bit quicker.

I see. I start with things on and look for a temp generally <18c to find ghost room which doesn't seem to take long to find the ghost room, but longer to check for freezing temp

@idle grail maybe they don't understand that you are trying to test for something specific and explain the jinn a tad more, newer players might not know or realize that its likely better to turn off lights when leaving rooms so that you can count on that properly, there is also a very distinctive sound when the breaker goes off because of too many lights (hearing multiple light switches as the breaker goes off though it can be difficult to hear if not near a switch that is on)

Biggest tip I have is to have objectives

For example, right when you enter the house, identify hiding spots that are open

(Searching for hiding spots is in case it's a demon, or if you're playing on 0 sanity)

doesn't mean you could be using your phone to discord and game on a console....but...that person's reply is valid as offline has some impact on how the game works. So you getting the red dot...that means the ghost hears you and can't reply (because it's not a spirit box ev ghost) or it heard you and while roaming still, has gotten out of range to answer.

I'll reword. if the ghost's evidence is spirit box it will answer if in range. red dot / lines are the indicator it heard ya. As said before, 2 reasons to not get a white reply is because of range, or not of the evidence. either way, i feel that no matter what we tell you to help you, it's not the answer you want so I'm gonna leave it to anyone else who wants to assist you. misidentifying the evidence, or not circling the one that you have when given all 3. probably the first. misseen dots, orbs, emf...the ones that give media are the best to prove they are true evidence. my group often questions themselves but because i do the pics/vid/sound it shows that we aren't splicing the same location twice. (we tend to go back for a death revenge so often get ev mixed from previous round to current)

idk ps5 either. You can run thru the Training and it should tell you. Throwing the book means you can cross off Writing (until Nightmare), not check it.

I did cross it out. EMF spiked to 5 and I checked for freezing temps but it wasn’t below zero.

Freezing temps are a function of the ghost spending enough time in a room to bring the temps down to freezing. Also on Amateur (I'm guessing), the breaker is already on so the house is warmed to 20C already. This can cause freezing to take longer than usual even if the ghost stays in its room.

Plus the T1 thermo is slow, so it'll be a bit longer until you realize on that, too.
