Hey! I'm wondering, has Goryo become the one who changes the ghost room a lot? (as a bug)
I moved rooms at 10 Ridgeview Court twice, both to different locations. The temperature changed drastically, and it wasn't temporary, and there was a lot of interference.

But! The GAME RESULT showed that I hadn't changed rooms!
Is this a bug???

They were mistaken. Or someone used the monkey paw to force a room change. There is sometimes some weirdness with the Ridgeview basement / foyer area but, no, the goryo isn't changing its room

as Bourbon said above goryo can wander out of the room, when way point is outside of the fav. room
but goryo also has a nuance: any way point outside of it's fav room will still be used, i.e. despite the fact that it is very far away
other ghosts have limits on the length of the path, so the goryo may go out in some rooms (mostly small ones) even more often than others, but will return to fav room literally almost immediately after leaving the room, i.e. it will almost never reach the planned point

The last ghost room I found had a high temperature while I was finding it.
For a while, the temperature in what I thought was a ghost room was low! (And it happened twice!)

If there's no ghost in a ghost room, does the temperature in that room not drop?

The cursed item was a "Bootoo Doll," which I never used!
DOTS were observed in the "Living Room."
(Since Goryo was out of my sight, I only remember capturing DOTS on the video camera!)

EMF and fingerprints were observed in each room for a while.

If you have Dots outside of the ghost room and it triggers it whilst in its room walking out, if it remains in the dots it'll still show in the next room. Could very easily confuse either room with the ghost room because of that so unless they had something specific that told them the room like orbs, ouija board etc they can't base the ghost room purely off where they saw the dots

The reason I thought it was a ghost room was the temperature.

For example, when I moved from the kitchen to the living room,
the temperature in the kitchen became the same as the other rooms,
and the living room became the same temperature as the original kitchen,
and this continued for a while.

Temperature follows the ghost so if it roams out of its room often itll make neighbouring rooms cold as well, sometimes equally as cold

Ive had games where surrounding rooms have been colder than the ghosts favourite room as well

Basically the overall summary of this is that it's much more likely that you just got the ghost room incorrect (without anything specific to tell you, very easy to do) rather than the goryo is bugged and changing rooms when it isn't supposed to be able to

temp high = not ghost room
temp low = probably ghost room

Normally you can see your breath in the ghost room and not in other places unless the ghost is wandering

So, watch your breath and you may catch that before anything else sometimes

If i'm playing 0 evidence, and i've already ruled out all the easy ghosts, (oni, jinn, hantu, yadda yadda) how can i figure out which one i'm dealing with?

do I just find the room on the 1.30 downtime and crucifix it so i can test for stuff like onryo candles, etc?
or is there a better way to rule some of those out?

also. how can i tell apart a rev and a jinn with broken breaker?

Broken breaker means jinn will just act like a normal ghost, rev will be slow and then ultra fast when it sees u

With breaker on the difference is that the jinn will speed up and then slow down to normal and the rev just speeds up and keeps its speed

imo difficulty is kinda relative, but if you can loop, play a few runs and watch some vids on ghost behaviour, you'll likely have a fun time with it and it shouldn't be way too hard.

No breaker the jinn doesn’t get line of sight speed up so it’s very easy to tell if it’s a Jinn or not

Lowkey I’ve been getting the ghost type way faster in no evidence than insanity because when I was doing insanity I spent all this time trying to get the evidence and it barely narrows it down.

Then u lose a bunch of sanity in the meantime

There's more normal speed ghosts. The one hunt method can cause a lot of incorrect ghost guesses and make ppl rely on speed.
There's a ton of people that don't even know ghost abilities they just go for looping and anyone can play the way they want but not an expert at this game if you only go by speed

Did they change the brightness on maps at all or something? I used to be able to see basically everything with my filters but now half the maps are almost pitch black even with my nvidia filters enabled

i had a thought. OG no evidence might actually be harder than the custom setting. if you turn evidence off you can still use EMF and thermo as well as dots for lighting and any orbs you do see is an instant indicator of mimic.

with all evidence available but not being allowed to find/accept it, you can't use EMF on the chance you might find EMF5, you can't find the ghost room with thermo because you might find freezing (and cold breath changes mean you can't assume freezing that way anymore). you can't place dots for visibility because you might get dots, and any orbs you see have to be ignored because they could be any orbs ghost OR mimic.

I want to absolutely commend the dev team for shaking up the event this year. The krampus sack is just the kind of dynamic thing we loved about community events of yore. My remaining frustration is of the grind, and the illusion of challenge with community rewards we are bound to unlock because there is no chance we won't. But I absolutely applaud the slight movement back to dynamic interesting tasks to do within the map.

I got sick of it and went back to other small maps. Only other small map I don't feel like doing is Grafton Farmhouse and Camp Woodwind

I know playtime doesn't matter too much, but with my 80 hours into the game, I still feel like I'm shit at the game. It takes me soo long to do Investigations, we're talking about 20 minutes, maybe 10 minutes if I get really lucky and get evidence early. Takes me about an hour to do perfect ones. I've gotten decently comfortable with Tanglewood, and I've learnt Ridgeview and Willow Street well enough that I can survive, at least on Professional or lower. I've tried doing Nightmare runs to get better at being able to tell what ghost it is during hunts and by watching behaviors outside of hunts. But I still can't consistently win Nightmare games (guess ghost correctly + survive) outside of Tanglewood.

But I don't know how good I'm expected in order to be considered average while having about 80 hours in the game.

Games are sometimes bad, sometimes good. Sometimes you're in and out, and sometimes it takes 30 minutes for one investigation. We all hit that wall eventually where we think we're not improving, but trust me, you are. 80 hours is a large amount of time. There's not an average skill level or anything like that, we all play at our own pace!

It's just one of those things where it's luck of the draw. Sometimes you can get an awful ghost that's just not giving you anything to work with, and then sometimes it's a mimic on zero evidence

Check for colder temps, check for open doors or things out of place. Sometimes you can check for orbs depending on the ghost.

I feel so blessed because I was down to 3 ghosts: Mare, Yokai and Onryo, but I was struggling to get freezing, DOTS or Writing, so i decided to start doing some testing. I light my first firelight for the Onryo test, i get evented on but we ball. I light the second firelight and start to get nervous. Breaker turns off so i go to fix it, when i come back the temperature starts being weird (T1 thermo is annoying can't wait for T2) and right before I light the final firelight, it finally reaches freezing and I book it out. I would like to thank this Onryo for showing mercy to my poor suffering soul

Place it down and it detects sound in a radius that gets bigger per tier, T2 and t3 have different modes. You can also extend the range of one of them by a bit from the truck

How do item upgrades get applied? Is it only for the lobby creator's van?

You upgrade your own gear, but whatever is in the truck is whoever's loadout is applied

If you apply your loadout, the item will show. Upgrades are personal, loadouts are applied for the whole team

Like if you have t3 spirit box, the person whos loadout is applied can remove spirit box and you can put yours in

Yeah, it'll always be [# of evidence] + orbs, so you'll get 3 evidences for it on Nightmare, you'll get orbs on 0 evidence games, etc

If you stuck around long enough (or maybe checked again), your current Mimic would eventually give you freezing so you'd have 4 total on Prof or lower

Freezing (or any room temps) are a function of where the ghost is spending its time and what the ambient temp is (either 20C if breaker is on or whatever the weather is). So you can't really force freezing all that much.

If the breaker starts off and it's snowy weather, you'll get it quickly usually, b/c it doesn't have to drop all that much. If you're still on Amateur, it can take a while since the house will alread be warmed up when you go in.

and while the gear doesn't affect the temps, when you start getting better thermos, it's less of a hassle to deal with

No great tips. It's just standard game with shitty/missing equipment. Don't forget ghost behaviour that can give away a ghost without needing to get all the evidence. EMF5 can be annoying to get with the T1 detector so sometimes the activity screen can be easier. You can't definitively get EMF5 from the screen but if you get a 4 or 5 while no-one is in the house there's a very good chance that's EMF5

on the basement - yes, on the 1s floor - no (they’re not tied to any room)
also yurei can close the foyer entrance door
