The key is that if it closes the front door outside of a hunt or event it's a guaranteed yurei

Other ghosts cannot shut the front door without it being an event or hunt

Myling on a parabolic will more frequently give you noise, Jinn you can have an emf by the breaker if it goes to a 2 with out anything happening it is a jinn, Obake I learned recently it will skip steps in an event

A good way to practice looping is by playing on Tanglewood and using the kitchen counter
Unless you get a crawling ghost and unless the ghost doesn't jump on you and break your neck, then it's pretty easy to loop it around the counter.
