Hey yall. Little confused about testing for shade without 3 evidence. I got multiple ghost interactions while the ghost was in the room with me including blowing out candles, touching doors, etc. The cheat sheet says specifically interactions that give EMF 2/3, so I confirmed that as well. I was under the impression that this was supposed to be impossible for shades. Is that not the case? What did I miss here?

So what I did was, I gathered all evidence and did what I could
Final objective was to repel it with Incense
So I used Tarot Cards for fun, never got it to hunt with that though
But the Cards did get me low enough sanity for a hunt, then I waited. Once it started hunting, I stayed at the counter, managed to briefly loop it before it turned around and I smudged it so it wouldn't off me

Now I know why people say it's best to crouch as you loop it, unless it's a Deogen or a kid, or crawling

I tried looping it standing up 😅, and it caught up to me pretty fast

me walking into the house and the hunt starting right away, or me wanting to go out but the door closes in my face and starts right away, terrifying thoughts 😭

If the hunt starts right away, all you gotta do is pray to whichever deity you believe in that the ghost isn't near the exit and that you can find a hiding place on time
Either that, or bring an incense with you to smudge the ghost

doesn't have DOTS
Mimic can mimic Demon ability, doesn't have DOTS
even more tenuously, Jinn can sneakily and quickly drain your sanity and subsequently hunt when you didn't realise you were at risk
doesn't have DOTS
there are DOTS ghosts with high hunt thresholds but none that can really catch a careful, knowledgeable player offguard

sometimes there's just a long gap between sounds too
I try to record EMF 5 or Spirit Box if the ghost has them, and the firelight being blown out
then you don't have to get so many of the spontaneous sounds
